I decided to break up this journal entry into 2 parts to cut down on the length. the next part will tell you about my summer to life right now.
January-March:
-eh, nothing really exciting here, just been pounded with school work and projects. A few youth group outtings, but nothing really major.
April:
-ok, it starts to get fun here!
*9th-Art class field trip to Washington DC! went to the National Portarit gallery and to the Hirshhorn museum. Both were awesome!I got some really great pictures and it was so beautiful because the cherry blossoms were out! I'll post some pics soon lol
*18th Another field trip lol. Went to see Wicked in NYC (again XD) with the Drama Club. Went shopping in Times Square and Rockafeller Plaza. Then ate at Planet Hollywood. In the evening we went to the Gershwin Theatre and saw Wicked. IT WAS AMAZING!! Even better the second time. (I saw it last summer, see previous journal entries) We got back at 4am, but it was so worth it!
*25th COLOR DAY! We have this tradition at my school where we get a full day out of classes and get to do basically whatever we want!(it's set up like a carnvial) They have all kinds of food vendors and games to play. In the afternoon, we have this giant competition between the classes for the color day championship cup. classes graduating in even years (me- GO 2010!!! lol) are red and white, odd years are blue and gold. THe seniors won, which didn't surprise me. But other than that, it was awesome!!
MAY:
-one month left yay!
*6th Special Olympics:
Every year, the school puts together a sreies of olympic games for children with disabilties to compete with eachother. I volounteered to help chaperone a kid to make sure he was alright for the day. It was a blast! The weather was beautiful and I got out of class all day!!!
*23-26
Unfortunately, my grandpa wasn't doing well health wise all this time and needed an immediate cardio bypass. So, I got out of school for a day to go the hospital to be with him. Thankfully, the surgery went well and he's doing great! But, while I was waiting for the surgery to be done, there was this giant arts festtival going on outside the hospital, so I spent alot of time there! I stopped at some of the painting booths and painted a really cool egyptian ceramnic figure! I even contributed to a large community mural! We stayed over memprial weekend and my grandpa was able to come home soon after that!
June
-WOOT! only one week left!!!
*2-5: Finals Week!
I had all of my final exams this week. It was a ralaxed schedule so we could leave after we were done with one exam. I didn't have to go at all on the 3rd because I didn't have any exams! It was just my study hall and lunch! lol
*6th
-LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! WOOT!
didn't really do anything today. I didn't even go to some of my classes because there was no point. I mostly hung out in the cafeteria all day with my friends. Then the bell rang and IT'S SUMMER WOOT!!!
